Paver Sealing Cost in St. Augustine, FL

Paver sealing cost in St. Augustine comes down to three things: how many square feet you have, what shape the pavers are in, and how much sand has washed out of the joints. National cost guides put a full job (cleaning, re-sanding and sealing) at roughly $1.50 to $3.25 per square foot. Below is what that buys, what pushes a job to either end of the range, and how to get an exact number from Jax Pressure Pro without anyone coming out.

Typical price ranges by size

These are national ranges for a complete clean, re-sand and seal, from HomeGuide's paver sealing cost guide. Bigger areas cost less per square foot, because setup, travel and minimums get spread across more pavers:

  • 250 sq ft (a walkway or small patio): $550 to $820
  • 500 sq ft (a larger patio or small driveway): $875 to $1,475
  • 1,000 sq ft (a driveway plus walkway, or a pool deck): $1,750 to $2,950
  • 2,000 sq ft (driveway, walkway and pool deck together): $3,500 to $5,900

What's included in a full paver seal

A paver seal is four jobs in a row, and a quote is only comparable to another one if it includes all four:

For our own work in St. Augustine, a full clean, re-sand and seal starts at $1,200, and the seal is backed by a 2-year warranty on the maintenance plan.

If a quote is far below the range, ask which of these it leaves out. The usual answer is re-sanding, and sealer over half-empty joints doesn't hold up. The full process, step by step, is on the paver sealing page.

  • Cleaning: surface cleaner across the whole area, plus spot treatment for oil, rust and algae
  • Drying time: usually 24 to 48 hours, so the sealer bonds to the paver instead of trapped water
  • Re-sanding: every joint refilled with joint sand, not play sand
  • Sealing: sealer across every paver and joint, in the finish you pick

Six things that move the price

Two driveways with the same square footage can get very different quotes. These are the reasons:

  • Size and number of areas. A driveway, walkway and pool deck in one visit costs less per foot than three separate small jobs.
  • Condition. Oil spots, rust and years of black algae take extra cleaning time and treatment. One St. Augustine customer, David Butler, had an oil stain on his paver patio that had been there "for a good while"; it came up, but stains like that add time.
  • Joint sand washout. A few low joints are quick. Joints washed out down to the base take far more sand and labor.
  • Old sealer. Peeling or cloudy sealer from a past job has to be dealt with before a new coat goes on.
  • The finish. A darker wet look and a natural look use different sealers. Cost guides list solvent-based sealers at about $32 to $55 a gallon and water-based at about $40 to $90.
  • Access. Gates, tight side yards, slopes and furniture to move all add time.

Cleaning only vs. a full seal

If your pavers just need to look good for guests or a sale, a cleaning on its own costs much less. Angi lists paver cleaning alone at about $0.25 to $0.50 per square foot nationally. The trade-off is that cleaning doesn't put sand back in the joints or protect the color, so in Northeast Florida's sun and storms the joints keep emptying.

A full seal costs more up front and buys time. In this climate, plan on resealing about every 2 to 3 years, sooner for driveways and pool decks that see heavy use. Letting the joints wash out for years is how pavers start to shift, and resetting shifted pavers is a job for an installer that costs many times what a seal does.

When you shouldn't pay for sealing yet

Sometimes the honest answer is to wait or to spend the money somewhere else first:

  • Your pavers went in within the last 60 to 90 days. Moisture needs time to escape and any white haze needs to surface so it can be cleaned off first.
  • Pavers are sinking, heaving, cracked or rocking. Sealing doesn't fix that; an installer needs to reset them first, and Jordan will tell you so at the quote.
  • You only need it clean this month. A driveway cleaning or patio wash may be all you need for now.

How to get your exact price

Jax Pressure Pro doesn't publish a flat per-foot price, because the six things above change every job. Most quotes come back from photos, without a site visit, and they're free.

  • A close-up of the joints
  • A rough size if you know it (length times width is fine)
  • Whether you want a wet look or a natural look

Where these numbers come from

The price ranges above are national figures from HomeGuide's cost to seal pavers guide and Angi's paver cleaning and sealing cost guide, checked in October 2026. They're a starting point for budgeting, not a Jax Pressure Pro quote. The process details, drying times and reseal timing come from how Jordan does paver sealing in St. Augustine.
