Roof Cleaning in St. Augustine, FL
Roof cleaning in St. Augustine, FL is done with a low-pressure soft wash, never a pressure washer on the shingles. Jordan applies a cleaning solution at low pressure that kills the algae and mildew behind the black streaks, so the roof gets clean without blasting off the granules that protect the shingles. Our house had not been pressure washed in 5 years and the roof had never been done and needed a ton of TLC. Jax Pressure pro went above and beyond to make it look like brand new and gave us a great price.
Jenna Price · Google review · April 2026 Jax pressure pro LLC just performed a soft wash on my roof and two sides of my home and it turned out great. Jordan was very professional and polite. From the free estimate to setting the appointment and completing the job he was always on time and courteous. I give him and his company five stars and two thumbs up. Look this company up on Facebook and give him a call you won't be disappointed.
John Beyer · Google review · June 2026 Jordan is a great guy to work with! He does excellent, affordable work that others don’t offer. Today, he pressure washed my sidewalks, driveway and curbs. Jordan also soft washed my house and cleaned the gutters. He kept me up to date on his progress while I wasn’t even there. ( My cameras were.) 😂 I look forward to him cleaning the mildew off my roof as soon as possible. Give Jordan a try. By the way, he is a JSO canine handler officer, too! Thanks for your service, Jordan!!!!

Why roofs here get black streaks
Those dark streaks running down a roof aren't dirt or shadows. They're algae, and Northeast Florida's heat, humidity and summer rain give it everything it needs, especially on shaded slopes and under overhanging trees.
Like the walls of a house, roof growth darkens as it sets in, and black usually means mold that takes a stronger cleaning mix. The longer it sits, the harder it is to treat, and the more moisture it holds against the roof.

Never high pressure on a roof
A pressure washer will make a roof look clean for a day and cost you years on it. High pressure strips the granules off asphalt shingles, can lift or crack them and can drive water up under the edges. That's damage you won't see until it leaks.
Jordan cleans roofs with a low-pressure soft wash only. The cleaning solution does the work and kills the growth, so there's no reason to put force on the shingles at all.
What a roof cleaning includes
A roof cleaning is about killing what's growing, not scrubbing the surface. Here's what that looks like:
- A look at the roof's condition before any cleaning starts
- Cleaning solution applied at low pressure across every slope
- A stronger mix on black mold and the heaviest growth
- No pressure washer on the shingles, ever
- Before and after photos of your roof
Roofs that have never been cleaned
Plenty of roofs around here have never been cleaned at all. Jenna Price's roof had never been done and needed a ton of TLC, on a house that hadn't been washed in five years either. John Beyer had his roof and two sides of his home soft washed together.
Pairing the roof with a house wash makes sense. Both are soft washed, and you're not left looking at a clean roof over green walls.

What affects your price
Every job starts at $225, the minimum for any visit.
Every roof is quoted on its own because no two are the same. These are the things that move the number:
The fastest way to a quote: text a few photos of the roof from the yard and the street to (904) 412-8080.
- Roof size and pitch
- Number of stories and how easy the roof is to reach
- How heavy the growth is, and whether it has turned black
- Overhanging trees and shaded slopes
- Other work on the same visit, like the house, gutters or driveway
When roof cleaning isn't the right call
Cleaning won't fix a roof that's already failing. Missing shingles, soft spots, active leaks or a roof near the end of its life need a roofer first, and Jordan will tell you that rather than clean over the problem.
And if the streaks are only on one small slope, you may not need the whole roof done. Photos make that easy to judge before anyone climbs a ladder. If the gutters are full too, gutter cleaning fits on the same visit.

Roof Cleaning questions
Is it safe to pressure wash a roof?
No. High pressure strips the protective granules off shingles and can lift or crack them. Roofs should be cleaned with a low-pressure soft wash, where a cleaning solution kills the growth and no force goes on the shingles.
What are the black streaks on my roof?
They're usually algae, and Northeast Florida's heat and humidity help it spread on shaded slopes. As the growth sets in it darkens, and black usually means mold that needs a stronger cleaning mix.
How often should a roof be cleaned in Florida?
When you see streaks or green growth coming back. Shaded roofs and roofs under trees tend to need it more often than roofs in full sun, and catching it early makes it easier to treat.
Can my roof and house be cleaned on the same visit?
Yes. Both are soft washed, and doing them together means you get a clean roof over clean walls in one trip.
